Sofa Cleaning in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Sofas in DUMBO tend to be big. In an open loft, the couch often defines the whole living area, so people choose long sectionals, deep modular pieces or two sofas facing each other. Moving that kind of furniture out of a converted warehouse is a project of its own, so cleaning it where it stands makes sense.

We clean sofas on site. The crew vacuums every cushion and crease, pre-treats arms, headrests and seat fronts, then cleans the fabric with a method matched to it, usually a careful hot water rinse with strong extraction to keep drying time short.

A large sectional has a lot of surface, and the dirt is not spread evenly. Most of it sits where heads rest, where arms are touched and where people sit most. We spend the most time on those parts instead of rushing the whole piece at one speed.

Modular sofas come apart, which helps. We can clean each section and slide it out from the wall to reach the back and sides that face the room in an open layout.

Light colors are popular in bright lofts, and they show everything: denim dye, pet hair, coffee and wine. Fresh stains are much easier to remove, so call us soon after a spill if you can.

Removable cushion covers stay on during cleaning. Taking them off and washing them in a machine can shrink them, and then they no longer fit.

Most sofas dry in four to six hours. In a sunny loft with an open window it is often faster.

Some lofts get a lot of light from tall factory windows, and that light can bleach the side of a sofa that faces them. Cleaning will not undo fading, but it does take off the dull layer of grime, so the color looks truer again. If you can, turn the cushions now and then so they wear evenly.

Chairs and benches around the sofa can be done with our DUMBO upholstery service, and the DUMBO page shows the rest of what we offer. Crews also clean sofas in Fort Greene nearby. Call 1-800-589-4364 or request a free quote online to book sofa cleaning in DUMBO, 11201.
