We wash with a gentle wool-safe solution and plenty of clean water, by hand, following the direction of the pile. Then the rug is rinsed and dried flat.

Strong sun through tall loft windows can fade one side of a rug over the years. Turning the rug every few months helps it wear and fade evenly. We will remind you when we deliver it.

If we see loose fringe, worn edges or moth damage, we point it out and let you decide what to do next.

Under a large sofa or dining table, part of the rug may hardly see light or feet, while the edges carry all the traffic. A wash brings both areas closer to the same color.
