Carpet Cleaning in DUMBO, Brooklyn

Most DUMBO lofts have wood or concrete floors, so the carpet that does exist tends to be in specific places: a bedroom, a mezzanine, a set of open stairs, or a work area laid with carpet tiles. Those spots get a lot of use and very little attention until a spill or a move-out makes them stand out.

We clean carpet with hot water extraction. The crew vacuums first, treats spots and the heaviest paths, then rinses the fiber with hot water and pulls the water and loosened dirt straight back into the machine. A final rinse leaves the carpet soft instead of sticky.

In a loft, the carpet usually shares one big room with everything else, so we protect the floors and furniture around it before we begin. Hoses run from the van or a portable unit, and we keep them tidy along walls and doors so neighbors in the hallway are not bothered.

Many buildings here ask contractors to use the freight elevator and stay within certain hours. When you book, send us the building's rules or a contact for the super. We plan the visit so the equipment goes up in one or two trips.

Carpet tiles in home offices and small studios clean well with extraction too. Chair paths and the area under a desk get extra passes, since rolling chairs grind dirt deep into the pile.

Dust is a real issue in old factory buildings. Fine grit from brick and concrete settles into carpet over time and makes it look gray. A thorough vacuum before the wash and a careful rinse take most of that out.

Plan on about four to six hours for the carpet to dry. Big windows and good air flow in many lofts help it dry faster. We will tell you when it is fine to walk on it in socks and when to put furniture back.

Rugs on the wood floors around your carpet can go out for a full wash with our DUMBO area rug service, and the DUMBO services page lists everything else we do here.
