Oriental Rug Cleaning in NoHo, NYC

A loft with wide-plank floors and a long open room can hold a rug most Manhattan apartments cannot: a 12-foot Persian, a big old Heriz, a hallway runner the length of the space. Pieces of that size and age deserve slow, careful handwork.

A wet room-size rug can weigh many times its dry weight. Washing it by hand on a proper floor, then drying it flat, keeps the knots and backing from being strained.

Tall factory windows pour light across loft floors. Years of that light can lighten one half of a rug. Rotating the rug every six months or so keeps the fading even, and we will note any we find.

Collectors in NoHo sometimes own pieces with natural dyes that are sensitive to heat. We keep the water cool for those rugs and dry them under close watch.
