Auto Detailing in NoHo, Manhattan

Plenty of NoHo residents walk or take the subway during the week and save the car for getaways upstate or out to the beach. A car that sits for days, then comes back full of sand and road dirt, needs a different kind of care than a daily commuter.

We do the detail where the car is kept. That is usually a garage that permits outside work, or a legal spot on the street when there is enough room. Inside, the cabin gets a careful vacuum and wipe-down, and leather or fabric seats get cleaned and conditioned. Outside, we hand wash and wax the paint, never using an automatic brush.

Beach weekends bring sand that settles under the seats and into the seat tracks. Hiking trips upstate leave mud on the mats and pedals. We pull the mats, clean beneath them and treat the carpet so grit does not grind into it.

When a car sits parked for long stretches, a fine layer of dust settles over the dash and vents, and the cabin can smell closed up. Wiping every surface and airing the car out gives it a fresh start before the next trip.

Some owners here keep an older or special car they drive only now and then. Older paint and leather can be delicate, so we use soft tools and go slowly. Tell us about the car when you book.

The garages around Lafayette Street and the Bowery each have their own policy for outside vendors. Ask yours first, and pass along any rules or hours they give you.

Downtown streets are narrow and deliveries block lanes, so if we are working at the curb, we confirm the spot is legal and safe before we start.

Eco-safe, non-toxic products keep the cabin free of harsh fumes.
