Area Rug Cleaning in Lower East Side, Manhattan

Getting a big rug down five flights of tenement stairs is not something anyone wants to do alone. That is why area rug cleaning on the Lower East Side starts with free pickup. Our crew rolls the rug, wraps it and carries it down for you.

At our facility, the rug is dusted, washed in a full bath and rinsed until the water runs clear. Then it dries flat in a controlled space, so it does not shrink or stay damp in the middle. When it is ready, we bring it back and lay it where it was.

Before we take a rug, we check the fiber and test the dyes, so we know how it will handle water.

Rugs on the Lower East Side are often the main thing that makes a small apartment feel warm. A rug in a tenement living room may also cover a hard, old wood floor that gets cold in winter, so it sees heavy use every single day.

Grit is the biggest enemy. Sand and street dirt sink down to the base of the pile and wear the fibers from below like sandpaper. Our dusting step shakes that grit out before the rug ever gets wet, which a home vacuum cannot fully do.

Pets, spilled drinks and food from busy dinners leave stains and smells that sit deep in the rug. A full bath reaches all the way through the rug instead of only cleaning the top.

If your rug lives in a newer building with a service elevator, tell us the move-in or contractor hours when you book. We time the pickup and return to fit them.

If you have a hand-knotted piece, our oriental rug cleaning on the Lower East Side is the right choice, and we can do wall-to-wall carpet in the same apartment. See the Lower East Side page for all services, or read about rug pickup in NoHo. Call 1-800-589-4364 for a free quote.
