Area Rug Cleaning in Parkchester, Bronx

Lots of Parkchester apartments have wood floors in the living room, and the area rug on top is what makes the room feel finished. It is also the piece that takes every footstep between the couch, the dining table and the kitchen.

Rugs clean best when they leave the apartment. So yours rides down in the elevator with our crew and goes off to be washed at our facility, with its own dust removal, soak and controlled drying.

Collection and drop-off are free, and our crew handles all the lifting. If the coffee table or the dining chairs sit on it, we move them.

At the plant, each rug is looked over for wear, stains and fiber type. Wool, cotton, viscose and synthetic rugs all need a different wash, and viscose in particular can be damaged by too much water or scrubbing.

Apartment rugs fill up with fine dust rather than heavy grit, but it still settles deep in the pile. We remove that dust first with a dry process, then wash, rinse and lay the rug flat to dry so it keeps its shape.

Cooking smells and smoke can work their way into a rug over time, especially in a smaller apartment where the living room and kitchen are close. A full wash takes most of that out.

If a pet has had accidents on the rug, tell us when you book. We treat those spots with an enzyme rinse during the wash, and if a stain has changed the color of the fibers, we explain what can be improved.

Smaller rugs from the bedroom, the bathroom or by the front door can come along in the same trip. It often makes sense to send them all at once.

A hand-knotted Persian or antique piece follows a different, slower routine, described on our Parkchester oriental rug page.
