Sofa cleaning at home in Washington Heights for family sofas, sectionals and sleeper sofas, usable again the same day.
The sofa in a Washington Heights apartment might be the busiest seat in Manhattan. On game day it holds the whole family, during the week the kids do homework and eat snacks on it, and some nights it becomes a bed for a visiting cousin.
There is no need to move it. Our technician looks over the frame, the fabric and each cushion right in your living room, then works on the stains one at a time before cleaning the whole piece.
Food and drink are the usual suspects. Coffee, soda, juice, sauce and chip crumbs each get a pre-treatment that suits them.
Seat fronts and arms turn darker over time from hands, legs and skin oils. Extra attention there makes the sofa look even from end to end.
Dog and cat hair is lifted out first, and the cushions are treated for odor.
Some families keep plastic covers on the good sofa for years. When the covers finally come off, the fabric underneath can smell stale; a cleaning brings it back to life.
Leather and faux leather sofas are cleaned with a mild cleaner and conditioned, rather than washed like fabric.
Microfiber sofas, very common in busy homes, can show water marks if cleaned the wrong way. We use a method that leaves the surface even.
In homes where the living room does double duty, sectionals and sleeper sofas are the norm. We clean around the fold-out frame, and the sleeper mattress can be cleaned on the same visit.
A sofa in front of a sunny window facing the Hudson may have faded or brittle fabric on the back and arms. We go gently on those spots.
Many families clean the sofa before a big event, such as a baptism, a birthday or the holidays, when the apartment will be full of guests.
It dries fast. In most homes the sofa is ready to use again within a few hours, and the products are eco-safe and non-toxic, so nobody has to leave.
