Mattress Cleaning in Gramercy, Manhattan

A good mattress in a Gramercy co-op can stay in service for ten years or more. In that time it outlives several sets of sheets and pillows, and it quietly absorbs dust, skin flakes and moisture every night.

The cleaning happens where the bed stands; nobody has to wrestle it into the hallway. A powerful vacuum goes over the top and sides first, marks are treated next, and a sanitizing clean that uses very little moisture finishes the surface, followed by a deodorizing step.

Spare rooms are a common reason people call us here. Before children or grandchildren arrive for Thanksgiving or a long summer weekend, a fresh mattress in the guest room is a quiet way to say welcome, especially if nobody has slept on it since last year.

The bed you use every night carries the most. A stuffy nose in the morning, yellow areas on the cover or a faint stale smell all point to a mattress that is ready for attention, and people with dust allergies often feel the difference first.

Prewar buildings bring their own dust. Steam radiators dry the air through the winter, and older window frames let in soot from the avenues. A bed pushed against either one collects more, so our technician treats the side panels, not just the sleeping surface.

Accidents happen when little ones visit. Those spots are handled with non-toxic, eco-safe products, so the room can be used again the same day.

Once it is clean, add a protector that zips off for washing, and every few months strip the bed and let the mattress breathe with the window open.

One appointment can cover several mattresses, and a bedroom rug or armchair can be added if you like.

Bedroom carpet can be done the same day through Gramercy carpet cleaning, and the Gramercy page lists the rest. South of 14th Street, roommates rely on our East Village mattress service. Request a free quote at 1-800-589-4364.
