Auto detailing for Gramercy residents in building and neighborhood garages, planned around each garage's rules.
Street parking around Gramercy Park is scarce, and most residents who drive keep the car in a monthly space, either under their own building or in a garage on one of the avenues.
That is where we meet your car. Every garage sets its own limits on water, noise and space, so we call ahead or ask you for its policy, and only then decide between an inside-only job and a complete inside-and-outside detail.
We start at the back and work forward. The trunk is emptied with you or the attendant, brushed and vacuumed. Then come the rear seats, the front seats, the pedals and the floor under them, where gravel and wrappers hide.
Hard surfaces such as the steering wheel, the gear selector, the vents and the door pockets are wiped with a cleaner that leaves no greasy shine. Cloth upholstery can be shampooed and extracted. Leather gets a gentle cleaner followed by a conditioner to keep it soft.
When the garage permits running water, the outside is washed by hand, panel by panel, and dried with soft towels. Rims are brushed, tires are dressed and the windows are polished streak-free. Engine bay cleaning is an extra you can add, and a ceramic finish is available if you want the paint protected for longer.
Weekend drivers who head out of the city often come back with mud on the carpets, pollen on the hood and bugs on the bumper. Daily drivers collect receipts, coffee rings and crumbs. Either way, the plan is the same: clear it out, clean it down and leave the cabin fresh.
Many Gramercy garages hold residents' keys. If yours does, you can stay upstairs while we work, and we let you know when the car is ready.
Plan on a few hours for a complete job. The price is agreed before any work begins, and you can pair the detail with a sofa or rug cleaning in your apartment on the same day.
