Pickup and delivery rug cleaning for Tarrytown homes, from old houses with narrow stairs to river-view condos, washed and dried at our facility.
Area rugs make a lot of sense in Tarrytown. Old houses have beautiful wood floors that people want to show, and a rug in the living room or the hall protects them and keeps the room warmer.
Getting a big rug out of an old house is another story. Stairs are narrow, doorways are tight, and the front steps can be steep.
Our crew rolls the rug, carries it out carefully and brings it back clean, dry and ready to lay down.
River air keeps rugs a little damp for much of the year, especially in ground-floor rooms and basements. Over time that can cause a musty smell, and in bad cases mildew on the back. We check the backing on pickup and treat odor during the wash.
Drying is where many home attempts go wrong. A rug washed in a humid house can stay wet inside for days. Ours dry at our facility in a controlled setting, so they come back fully dry.
Before we roll your rug, we inspect it with you and note stains, worn spots and loose fringe. Then you get a clear price before it leaves.
Kitchen and entry rugs near the back door pick up mud from the hillside yards and grit from the stone steps. These smaller rugs can ride along with the big ones on the same pickup.
Wool rugs and synthetic rugs need different cleaners, and so do jute and sisal, which can brown if they get too wet. We identify the fiber first and wash it accordingly.
If the rug sits in a sunroom or by a bay window facing the river, the sun may have dried the fibers. We clean it gently and tell you if it has become fragile.
Hallway runners in old houses take a lot of traffic from the front door and the stairs. They clean up well and are easy for us to carry.
Rugs from riverfront condos come down by elevator, and we work around any building rules on move-in hours or service entrances.
Most rugs are cleaned and back in your home in about a week. We lay the rug and pad back where they were.
If you have a hand-knotted Persian, the oriental rug service is the right choice. For wall-to-wall rooms, book carpet cleaning on the same day.
