Armed with those answers, our team washes the piece by hand. It is slower than machine cleaning, but it lets us control water and pressure on every part of the rug.
Drying is done fully and patiently. Wool knots hold water, and a rug that dries too slowly can develop a musty smell.
Pets and heirloom rugs do not always mix. If your dog or cat has had accidents on the rug, we treat the area carefully, since urine can affect old dyes.
Collection and return are free. We carry the rug, so you never need to wrestle it into the car.
Rugs in homes with radiant or baseboard heat can dry out over winter. We look for brittle fibers along the edges before washing.
Small prayer rugs and runners are welcome as well, and they can share the trip with the larger rug.
