Area rugs from Tuckahoe homes picked up at your door, washed at our facility and brought back clean. Free pickup and delivery, and a free quote first.
The rug under the kitchen table, the runner by the back door, the soft one in the kids' room: in a Tuckahoe house these take a beating. Sand from the beach, dirt from the yard and crumbs from every meal all sink in deep.
Area rugs clean best off the floor, so we take them with us. Our crew rolls them up at your home, brings them to our facility for a full wash and returns them once they are fully dry.
When we pick up a rug in Tuckahoe, we note its size, fiber and any spots you are worried about. Wool, cotton, jute and synthetic rugs all need different treatment, and we test the dyes so colors do not run.
At our facility, the rug is dusted first to shake out the grit that a vacuum cannot reach. In a house near the beach and the woods, that step alone can pull out a surprising amount of sand.
Next comes a full-immersion wash. The whole rug is soaked and rinsed, which reaches the base of the pile in a way on-site cleaning never can. Pet stains and odors get their own treatment during this step.
Drying is done slowly and fully, flat and with good airflow, so the rug comes home fresh and not musty. The fringe is washed and combed so the ends look neat again.
Pickup and delivery are free. We bring the rug back, lay it where you want it and take a minute to make sure it sits flat.
Runners from mudrooms and back doors are some of the dirtiest rugs we see from Tuckahoe. They catch wet leaves, snow melt and beach sand all year, and they come back looking far brighter after a full wash.
If your piece is hand-knotted or older, it may belong with our oriental rug service instead, and we can do wall-to-wall carpet in the same house on the same trip.
