The wash itself is a full immersion. Water gets all the way through to the backing, flushing out grit, pet dander and dust that vacuuming leaves behind.
Rugs that smell like the dog get a separate odor step, since the smell tends to live in the backing. Any fringe is rinsed and laid out straight.
Cheap rugs from big-box stores are welcome too. Some are worth washing and some honestly are not, and we will tell you which yours is before charging anything.

Drying is done flat and unhurried, so the rug keeps its size and its corners stay square. Most are home again in about a week.
