Carpet Cleaning in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

In Sunset Park, carpet is often on the stairs. Many two- and three-family row houses have a carpeted inside staircase that every family in the house uses, and it takes more traffic than any room. Shoes come in from Fourth Avenue, from the subway, from the playground, and the dirt sinks into the front edge of each step.

Bedrooms are the other big area. Families with several kids, or grandparents who like a soft floor, often keep wall-to-wall carpet upstairs even when the living room has wood or tile.

We carry the hoses and the machine in, move the furniture ourselves, and set it back on pads when we finish. You do not need to clear the room before we come.

Each staircase gets step-by-step attention. We pre-treat the nose of every step, work it with a hand tool, and clean the corners by hand, because that is where grit packs in and a large wand cannot reach.

In the bedrooms we start with a look at the carpet and a fiber test. Kids' rooms usually need work on juice, crayon and the area beside the bed. Then we do a full hot water extraction of the room and take out as much water as we can, so it dries faster.

Drying usually takes four to six hours with normal airflow. Row houses can get warm upstairs in summer, so opening a window or running a fan helps a lot. You can walk on the carpet in clean socks right away.

Apartments over the stores on Fifth Avenue and Eighth Avenue tend to collect fine street dust. If that is your home, we spend more time on pre-treatment near the door and along the hallway.

Landlords who rent out a floor of their house often book us between tenants. A cleaned carpet makes the apartment easier to show, and we can do it on the day the old tenant leaves so the new family moves into a fresh floor.

If you have an area rug sitting on a wood floor downstairs, we can take it to our plant for a full wash while we are there. The details are on our Sunset Park area rug cleaning page.
