Most Coney Island homes are in tall buildings. We ask about the elevator, the loading area and any hours the building sets for vendors when you book. That way the crew shows up at the right door at the right time.
Sand is the big one. It is heavy, it sinks to the base of carpet fibers, and it wears them down like sandpaper. We vacuum first with strong suction, then clean, so the sand comes out instead of turning into mud.
