Bunk beds, trundles, student-room mattresses and new move-in beds in Fordham, sanitized and treated for dust mites.
Fordham apartments often hold more beds than rooms. Bunk beds and trundles stretch the space in family homes, and student shares near the campus can have a mattress in every corner, some inherited from whoever lived there last.
Every one of them soaks up sweat, sheds skin and hosts dust mites over time. A mattress left behind by a previous tenant carries their history as well.
We clean each bed on its frame with so little water that it is usable again by the evening.
The visit begins by checking how the mattress is built, since foam and springs handle moisture differently. A HEPA-filtered vacuum then works over the sleeping surface, the borders and the piping along the seams, where dust packs in tight.
Stains are dealt with next. Sweat rings, juice and the occasional bedwetting accident each need a different treatment. An anti-mite and allergen solution follows, and a nearly dry sanitizing pass finishes the bed.
Bunk and trundle mattresses are thinner than adult ones and see more spills. We keep them especially dry so the foam core does not stay damp.
Starting a lease in a student share and finding a mattress already there is common around the university. Getting it cleaned before the first night is an easy way to feel at home.
Landlords turning over furnished units can have every mattress in the apartment done in one stop between tenants, which is far cheaper than replacing them all.
Bed bugs are a different problem. If our technician spots signs of them, the work stops and we tell you, because they need a licensed exterminator.
Steam-heated rooms in winter are dry and dusty, which is when people with asthma often notice their bed the most. A late-fall cleaning helps.
Nothing harsh is used, so a child can climb back into bed once it has dried. If someone in the family has sensitive skin, tell the technician and we will skip the scented deodorizer.
