Area rug cleaning in Babylon with free pickup and delivery, for rugs from kitchens, living rooms, kids' rooms and hallways.
Plenty of Babylon homes have hardwood or laminate floors with rugs on top: one under the dining table, a large one by the TV, a runner in the hall and something soft beside a child's bed. Those rugs catch whatever falls, from breakfast cereal to dog hair.
Cleaning a rug at home rarely goes well. It is heavy, it soaks up water, and a rented machine can leave it damp for days, which in a house near the Great South Bay is an invitation for mildew. That is why we take rugs out and clean them in a proper setting.
Pickup and drop-off cost nothing extra, and the usual turnaround is roughly seven days.
We come to the house and roll up the rugs. If there are several, one trip takes them all.
Each rug is checked before washing. We note the fiber, test whether the dyes might bleed, and write down any stains or worn areas so you know what to expect.
Then a dusting machine beats out dry grit. Even a rug that looks clean usually releases a surprising amount of fine dirt, plus beach sand in summer.
Washing follows the material. Wool, cotton, synthetic and natural fibers like jute are each handled in their own way, with eco-safe products.
Pet urine is common in family homes and needs its own treatment, because it soaks through to the backing. Let us know about pet spots at booking so we can plan for them.
After the wash comes controlled drying instead of leaving the rug out in the open air. That keeps it from shrinking and from picking up a sour smell.
On the way back, we put the pad under the rug and lay it in place, so it lies flat and stays put when kids run across the room.
Kitchen rugs in front of the sink get spills every day. A yearly cleaning keeps them from turning sticky and gray.
