Oriental Rug Cleaning in Jackson Heights, Queens

Some of the most striking rugs in Queens are in Jackson Heights homes. Families here own Persian, Afghan, Pakistani, Indian and Turkish pieces, many hand-knotted and some brought from overseas or handed down.

Rugs like these are washed by hand, never scrubbed on the floor. Our crew picks them up free, inspects each one, checks fibers and dyes, hand-washes at our facility and returns the rug after a slow, even dry.

Tell us roughly how big the rug is when you call, and the quote is free.

Different weaving traditions use different materials. Most hand-knotted rugs are wool, but some carry silk highlights or are all silk, and some are viscose sold as silk. Knowing the fiber decides the wash.

Dyes are checked shade by shade. Deep reds, common in many Persian and Afghan rugs, can bleed if unstable, and a test shows how to wash safely.

Rugs kept in prayer rooms or saved for special occasions often have little visible soil but plenty of fine dust in the pile. A gentle hand-wash lifts it without wearing the rug down.

Fringe is washed and groomed with every cleaning, and worn or loose sections are pointed out.

Moth damage, thin areas and weak spots are all reported to you first, with the options explained in plain words.

Pickup from a walk-up or garden co-op costs nothing. Tell us how to reach your door and we handle the rest.

The rug dries slowly on a flat surface so it keeps its shape, and you can expect it back in roughly seven days.

Curious about how your rug was made? We are happy to walk you through the basics of its construction.
