Area Rug Cleaning in Forest Hills, Queens

Parquet and oak floors are a selling point in Forest Hills apartments, so owners cover them with rugs: under the dining table, beside the bed, down a long co-op hall. In the Gardens, rugs anchor living rooms with fireplaces and leaded windows.

Cleaning a rug properly means soaking it, which cannot happen on your floor. So the crew takes it away, the rug is submerged and rinsed at our facility, dried on a controlled schedule and then carried back in.

Doorman buildings make the handoff easy. Give the front desk a heads-up and we will come to your apartment, roll the rug, wrap it and bring it down, using the service entrance if your building prefers deliveries go that way.

Forest Hills Gardens has private streets and very little room to stop a van. Let us know the best place to pull over and we will keep the stop brief.

A quick fiber and colorfastness check happens before any water touches the rug. That is how a red border is kept from bleeding into a cream field. Hand-knotted or antique pieces are moved to our oriental rug service instead.

Rugs near a fireplace hold soot and ash, and rugs in sunny rooms trap fine dust. Submerging the rug flushes out grit lodged down at the base of the pile.

Urine spots and pet smells receive a targeted treatment, and the fringe is washed and brushed straight.

Plan on roughly a week before the rug returns. Several rugs can leave in a single trip.

The wash solutions are gentle and non-toxic, so a crawling baby or a sleeping dog is no concern once the rug is home.

Wall-to-wall carpet under a rug often hides the dirt that sifted through. If you want the floor done while the rug is away, the crew can clean it during the same pickup visit.
