Area Rug Cleaning in Rockville Centre, NY

Hardwood floors are everywhere in Rockville Centre's older homes, and area rugs cover most of them: a runner in the front hall, a big rug under the dining table, a soft rug in the kids' room. In apartments, a rug is often the main thing that makes a room feel finished.

Rugs hold far more dirt than they show. Grit sinks to the base of the pile, and spills soak through to the back. A real clean means washing the rug through and through, which is why we bring rugs to our plant.

We collect rugs for free from houses and from apartment buildings, then return them clean and dry.

Rugs are sorted on arrival by fiber, backing type, edge condition and how stable the dyes look. That tells us how to wash it.

Dusting comes before any water. Beating and shaking shake loose the sidewalk grit a vacuum cannot reach, which saves wear on the fibers once the rug is wet.

Next comes a full bath and rinse, with spot work on spills and pet marks as we go. Dining room rugs often need the most time, thanks to dropped food and sauce.

Drying happens in a controlled space, so the rug dries evenly without shrinking or picking up a sour smell.

If a wool rug spent months rolled up in the basement or a closet, ask us about a moth treatment.

Most rugs are ready in about a week. At delivery we can put down a fresh pad underneath, which protects your wood floor and keeps the rug from slipping.

For apartment pickups, let us know which entrance and elevator to use and whether the doorman can hold the rug if you are at work.

Valuable hand-knotted pieces go through oriental rug cleaning in Rockville Centre instead, and a bedroom with fitted carpet can be added via carpet cleaning.
