Riverhead is a big town with a lot of different homes in it. Near downtown you find older houses on small lots and apartments over the shops on Main Street. Head north toward the Sound and the streets fill with ranches, capes and newer subdivisions. Out along Sound Avenue and Route 25, farmhouses sit next to fields, farm stands and vineyards.
That mix is why we do not use one plan for every address. A family off Route 58 with two dogs needs something different from a retired couple in a condo, and both need something different from a farmhouse that tracks in field dust every spring.

Spring and fall are dusty seasons out here. When the fields are worked, fine soil drifts across yards and comes inside on boots and paws. It settles deep in carpet and in the weave of fabric sofas, and a quick vacuum does not lift it. We pre-treat that ground-in grit before we rinse, so it comes out instead of turning to mud in the fibers.
Summer brings a different problem. Families spend weekends at the Sound beaches on the north side of town, and fine sand ends up in car mats, entry rugs and bedroom carpet. Kids and pets add the usual spills. Our cleaning products are eco-safe and non-toxic, so the room is safe for kids and pets once it dries.
Many Riverhead homes are one-level ranches or condos, which makes the work quick and easy to plan. Older homes near downtown can have steep stairs, tight halls and original wood floors with rugs on top, and we take our time there. Downtown, parking near the Peconic riverfront, the Long Island Aquarium and the Tanger Outlets on Route 58 can fill up on busy days. If you live on a street with tight parking, tell us when you book and we will plan where the van can sit. Our crews also cover Riverside, just across the river.
